COYO’s co-founder Henry Gosling was born and raised in Fiji surrounded by beautiful coconut trees. He went on to create COYO, the world’s first coconut yoghurt, with his wife Sandra in 2009. At the time, coconut yoghurt seemed like a farfetched concept to them as it had not been done before. As they were walking on the beach contemplating the idea, a coconut washed up out of the ocean right in front of their feet. Itwas a sign to found COYO. From there, the couple embarked on this huge journey starting off in their home kitchen. Fast forward to 2019 and COYO how resides in the renovated former macadamia nut factory behind the Big Pineapple in Woombye.
COYO does not just craft smooth and silky dairy free yoghurts; it’s also has a delicious range of dairy free ice creams and, most recently, a range of dairy free frozen yoghurts made with real fruit and packed with probiotics.
Maple St Co-op was one of COYO’s first customers and continues to be very supportive of COYO to this day.
