Medicine Room.
At 16 Dom LivKamal did not simply decide to become a naturopath. “I didn’t have a choice” she told us. “This is what I do. It’s hard to explain. It’s my dharma”.
From her apothecary and dispensary in Coral Street Maleny Dom makes over 80 herbal extractions and the beautiful array of Medicine Room beauty and body care products sold at the Co-op. “I buy certified organic herbs and local oils” she says. “ I formulate the lotions and balms for me, and then they make it into the Medicine Room range. They all do the job they were designed to do. I don’t have a favourite, they are like children to me, I love them all!”.
Medicine Room was created in 1999 and has sold through the Co-op from the beginning. “I think the Co-op is incredible. It’s a friendly connection point for community. The crew are really supportive, incredibly welcoming and you can trust all of the products they sell”
Dom is also a professional writer and journalist, having written several books including The Wellness Zone which is heading into its third print run. She has been the folk medicine programmer for Woodford Folk Festival and is the founder of the High Vibes On The Mountain Festival. In addition to making an appointment with Dom, her Coral Street practice is open on Wednesdays from 10am to 2pm for visitors to see the herbal dispensary in action.
