Rachel Laity
I was first drawn to the Co-op and Maleny over 12 years ago on a vacation, and it took many years to come back up this way. Before becoming a Naturopath my background was in alternative healing, permaculture, and many years in the disability sector supporting and coordinating programs for some of the most vulnerable people in society.
As a Naturopath, I have a great love for the traditional Naturopathic determinants of health and treating the cause of dysfunction rather than solely focusing on symptom management. I've seen that the further a person moves away from a diet and lifestyle close to nature, the more unwell they become.
I have special interests in the skin, thyroid health, environmental health, healthy aging, and auto-immune diseases. I also love delving into research for people with complicated cases because I'm a research nerd.
What I love about the Co-op is the ethics guiding the business. It's so refreshing to work in a place filled with genuinely caring people who put the members' health first, rather than solely to make a profit. The staff culture is uplifting and supportive guided by caring management, which has a flow on effect to the harmonious way the co-op is run. I feel so blessed and grateful to be a part of the team here.
